Job summary

Howmet Aerospace invites undergrad students to join its AI internship in Pittsburgh for Summer 2027. As an Intern - Artificial Intelligence (IT), you will work within the Corporate Information Technology team on real projects during a 12-week program in a hybrid setting.

You'll collaborate with developers and data scientists, perform data preprocessing, model training, and evaluate AI solutions. The program offers housing stipend and remote-work capability for eligible students.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a CS/CE/Data Science bachelor’s with graduation Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalent.
• Proven internship/work/research or extracurricular activity.
• Willingness to learn and understand business.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers/data scientists to develop, test, and deploy AI models.
• Work on data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training.
• Perform exploratory data analysis of business and manufacturing data.
• Learn how to assess technology to select AI solutions for each use case.
• Conduct research on AI/ML advancements and share insights with the team.
• Write and maintain documentation of models, experiments, and code.
• Collaborate with supervisors, business units, and resource unit leaders.
