Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an AI Intern to join our i4 team. You will work on AI agents and tools to improve workflows within construction solutions, collaborating with the AI team and Data Solutions to prototype, test, and apply AI in real-world applications.

You will assist in data preparation, model testing, and documenting learnings while growing your professional skills in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in IT, MIS, CS, or related field.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior.
• Basic understanding of construction and common business practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and testing AI agents and custom AI systems.
• Contribute to prompt engineering workflows and user feedback loops.
• Prepare data sets for training/evaluation and experiment with pre-trained models (NLP, CV, generative AI).
• Document learning and share knowledge with teams.
• Collaborate across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.
