Job summary

Chalk is building an AI data platform for inference, delivering a scalable runtime inside customers' clouds. Forward Deployed Strategists steer the technical direction of Chalk’s integrations, working alongside sales, delivery, account management, and support as the technical judge across accounts.

You’ll partner with FDEs to design customer architectures, assess migration paths, and ensure CYP standards for correctness, latency, and cost.

Qualifications

Real depth in production infrastructure and live-traffic systems.
Advised engineering teams on systems you did not build and gained their buy-in.
Strong Python and SQL; ability to read customer code and discuss it confidently.
Able to scope a POC that proves the thing and nothing else; say no to non-essentials.

Responsibilities

Run technical discovery to understand a customer's systems, failures, and desired outcomes.
Advise on architecture and migration paths, identifying what to ship first and what to deprioritize.
Design what customers build on Chalk and set rules for correctness, latency, and cost.
Design agentic solutions and safe execution inside the customer’s cloud.
Define and run tight POC projects with clear success criteria and scope.
Collaborate with sales on accounts during decision making and keep technical direction aligned.
