Job summary

Kaufman Dolowich LLP in New York is seeking a motivated, tech-curious student or recent graduate to support our firm-wide AI initiative. This part-time role (20–25 hours per week) offers hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI workflows, and governance considerations, reporting to leadership on real projects.

You will help with adoption, training, documentation, and pilot AI solutions across platforms such as Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Automate, ChatGPT, and Claude, while

Qualifications

  • Student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Genuine interest in AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Azure AI Foundry, etc.).
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office/365.
  • Strong written communication; ability to write clear instructions and documentation.
  • Detail‑oriented and organized; able to manage small projects with light supervision.
  • High level of professionalism and respect for data privacy and security guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Support adoption and training for Microsoft 365 Copilot across 400+ firm users.
  • Build, test, and document AI agent workflows and prompt templates.
  • Research new AI tools, vendors, and capabilities relevant to legal services.
  • Help develop proofs of concept and pilot AI solutions for attorneys and staff.
  • Explore Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches using internal knowledge sources.
  • Contribute to AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance discussions.
  • Track adoption metrics and prepare simple usage reports/dashboards.
  • Support the AI Innovation Lab and internal Agent Hackathon initiatives.
  • Draft and refine prompt libraries for firm-specific use cases (e.g., legal docs).
  • Provide administrative support for AI rollout schedules and training sessions.
  • Assist staff learning to navigate new AI workflows and outputs.
  • Document processes and create simple how‑to guides for end users.

Job description

Kaufman Dolowich is a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas. We are actively seeking a motivated, tech-curious individual to support our firm-wide AI initiative. This is a hands‑on opportunity to work directly with the Chief Information Officer and other leadership on real projects involving Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI agents, and emerging legal‑tech workflows. No prior professional experience required, just genuine interest in AI and a willingness to learn.

This part‑time role is ideal for someone in school, a recent graduate, or someone early in their career looking to build a portfolio of practical AI experience within a professional services environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support adoption and training efforts for Microsoft 365 Copilot across 400+ firm users
  • Help build, test, and document AI agent workflows and prompt templates across multiple platforms, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Automate, and LLMs such as ChatGPT and Claude
  • Assist with research into new AI tools, vendors, and capabilities relevant to legal services (including evaluating and comparing different LLM providers)
  • Help develop proofs of concept and pilot AI solutions for attorneys and business professionals
  • Assist in exploring Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches using internal knowledge sources
  • Help research AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance considerations as the firm expands AI use
  • Help track adoption metrics and prepare simple usage reports/dashboards
  • Support the firm's AI Innovation Lab and internal Agent Hackathon initiatives
  • Assist with drafting and refining prompt libraries for firm‑specific use cases (e.g., legal correspondence, coverage analysis, matter intake)
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for AI rollout schedules and training sessions
  • Act as a first line of friendly support for staff learning to navigate new AI workflows or encountering unexpected AI outputs
  • Document processes and create simple how‑to guides for end users
  • Other duties as needed to support firm operations
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred)
  • Genuine interest in AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Azure AI Foundry, etc.) - coursework, personal projects, or self‑directed learning all count
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly; basic proficiency with Microsoft Office/365
  • Strong written communication skills - able to write clear instructions and documentation
  • Detail‑oriented and organized; able to manage small projects with light supervision
