Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a software engineer to help build AI-native platforms and data systems that empower engineers to explore and act on complex program data across devices like iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad.

You will work with ML scientists, algorithm engineers, hardware teams, and designers to design scalable backend services and AI tooling, shipping practical workflows and tools that become internal standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Swift or TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building backend services and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI/agent frameworks.
• Strong software architecture and API design sensibilities.
• Experience building retrieval pipelines or knowledge retrieval systems.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration.
• Experience evaluating AI outputs and shipping feedback loops.
• BS or MS in CS, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build novel AI-powered platforms that fundamentally change how engineers explore, analyze, and act on complex program data
• Design data infrastructure that brings together diverse knowledge sources with proper access controls
• Create reproducible analysis workflows with full provenance tracking
• Develop agentic pipelines that automate multi-step research while keeping engineers in the loop
• Build infrastructure for continuous, automated intelligence and monitoring
• Design collaboration systems for cross-functional teams to leverage shared knowledge
• Partner with algorithm teams to deliver tooling for iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad
