Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a Senior Engineer to build governance into our AI platform. You will translate risk and compliance needs into technical designs across Nexus and Accio, ensuring secure, auditable, and scalable AI controls.

The role collaborates with Risk, Infosec, and Internal Audit, and sits in the AI Technology group reporting to the Head of AI Technology. Denver-based with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• At least six years in software, platform, or security engineering with production experience.
• Strong Python and SQL, and hands-on APIs, IaC, and CI/CD experience.
• Deep expertise in identity and access controls, including RBAC and service principals.
• Ability to translate non-technical needs into technical designs for governance controls.
• Hands-on with a major cloud (Azure preferred) including logging and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Build governance into the platform with policy-as-code and deployment gates.
• Design identity, access, and permissions patterns across agents, models, and tools.
• Develop telemetry, evidence, and evaluation layers for governance outcomes.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Privacy, and Audit to translate needs into engineering specs.
• Create self-service governance patterns and templates for safe, scalable operation.
