Job summary

Odyssey, an AI lab in Palo Alto, seeks a Controller to build and lead the accounting function as we scale. You will own close, GAAP compliance, audits, policy, and controls while shaping systems, COA, and procurement infrastructure for rapid growth.

You will partner with executives on forecasting, financings, and board reporting, designing processes and controls for a future public-company environment. This builder role demands deep technical depth and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years progressive accounting leadership.
• Experience as Controller or senior accounting leader in a high-growth tech company.
• Deep command of U.S. GAAP and complex judgments.
• Experience leading audits and managing external partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Own accounting policy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead external audit and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and partners.
• Build scalable accounting processes, controls, and reporting from scratch.
• Develop financial systems architecture and COA evolution for scale.
• Support FP&A with forecasts, budgets, and board reporting.
• Lead the accounting organization as the company grows.
• Prepare for financings, investor reporting, and diligence.
