Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking an expert in AI for Discovery to accelerate new target identification using agentic AI and predictive modeling. You will collaborate with Oncology and BioPharmaceuticals teams to translate AI capabilities into actionable biology insights.

The role requires a PhD with 5+ years in academia or industry, deep learning experience (PyTorch/JAX), and strong scientific communication skills. Location is Cambridge, MA with an innovative, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

PhD required with 5+ years of post-doctoral/industry experience.
Expertise in agentic AI, LLM-based reasoning, or multi-agent systems.
Experience with predictive AI modeling for biology (foundation models, graph nets, perturbation models).
Strong understanding of drug discovery biology and translational science.

Responsibilities

Identify high-impact use cases with scientists to accelerate target identification and validation.
Deploy multi-agent AI systems into therapeutic workflows and translate AI capabilities into insights.
Advise cross-functional teams on AI-driven prioritization and investments.
Contribute to development and benchmarking of predictive models for in silico biology.
