AstraZeneca is seeking an Associate Director, AI for Discovery - New Target Discovery in Cambridge, MA. You will lead advanced AI initiatives to surface novel drug targets for Oncology and BioPharmaceuticals R&D, working cross-functionally with scientists and AI teams.

Qualifications

PhD in computational biology, AI/ML, or related quantitative field.
Deep expertise in agentic AI or multi-agent systems for scientific problems.
Experience with predictive AI modeling for biology and foundation models.

Responsibilities

Identify high-impact AI use cases with scientists to accelerate target discovery.
Deploy multi-agent AI systems into therapeutic workflows and translate AI insights to experiments.
Advise cross-functional teams on AI-driven target prioritization and investments.
Develop and benchmark predictive models for in silico biology, including perturbation and virtual cell models.
Contribute to team strategy and roadmap with senior leadership.
Increase external visibility through publications and collaborations.
Operate autonomously as a technical expert across organizational boundaries.
