Job summary

Google is seeking an AI-First Staff Software Engineer in Sunnyvale to design and deliver customer-centric software solutions at scale. You will engage with client environments, translate pain points into actionable products, and push fast, practical results across the stack.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with stakeholders across distributed teams to accelerate impact while maintaining high reliability and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with customers' environments to understand and solve issues.
• Use Agentic AI and Spec Driven Development to develop products and solutions.
• Lead architectural and design decisions, ensuring timely delivery with sound technical judgment.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, manage project priorities and tasks in a dynamic setting.
• Collaborate effectively within a geographically distributed team.
