Tulip, the leader in AI-native frontline operations, is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader in Somerville, MA to own Tulip's agent-native app-building product. This role blends software architecture, team leadership, and AI-driven development at scale.

You will hire and mentor a 3-5 engineer team, set engineering standards, collaborate across product, design and infrastructure, and help shape a high-velocity, high-quality engineering culture in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in software engineering building and scaling large SaaS products.
• 3+ years of people management leading a software development team.
• Experience building and scaling AI systems in production, including agent orchestration and context management.
• Experience designing evaluations for agentic systems — defining success criteria, building task suites, and measuring reliability across multi-step tool use.
• Expertise in contemporary tech stacks including React, Node.js, MongoDB, and Postgres, with experience deploying in multi-cloud and multi-tenant environments.
• Active use of AI tooling in your own practice, with a point of view on how it changes the way teams build.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent working experience.

Responsabilités

• Own the technical architecture and delivery of Tulip's new agent‑native app-building product.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of 3-5 engineers capable of operating with high autonomy and quality from day one.
• Establish engineering standards: testing, observability, and AI‑driven development practices for the team.
• Partner with Infrastructure and other Engineering teams to evolve Tulip's API surface and runtime so agents have what they need without compromising the existing platform.
• Collaborate deeply with product, design, and customer‑facing teams as a product threaded team, with shared ownership of outcomes.
• Cultivate an AI‑first development culture and continuously raise the bar on velocity and quality.
