Job summary

Next Chapter, a Banyan Software operating company, seeks a Head of AI Engineering to drive the AI-first transition of CaseWorks. You will personally design and ship the initial AI capabilities, then scale the team and codify AI-native workflows.

This role demands hands-on leadership and a focus on compliant, production-ready AI systems. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software and AI, with a track record of delivering end-to-end AI solutions and modernizing legacy architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Proven AI/ML end-to-end delivery to production users.
• Founding or first AI engineer experience preferred.
• Ability to modernize a 15-year Microsoft stack while leading modernization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the first AI-driven capabilities for Next Chapter (NCT).
• Refactor legacy components into cloud-native services and automate workflows with AI.
• Lead delivery outcomes, mentor engineers, and scale AI-native practices.
• Ensure safe, compliant deployment with feature flags and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Banyan's centralized AI initiatives to accelerate product value.
