Job summary

Alternative Payments is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own business problems end to end, building internal tooling, AI agents, and dashboards that move the company forward. You will collaborate with Ops, Product, and Data to translate needs into scalable, production-ready solutions.

You will work with the Product Engineering team on early-stage ideas, design architecture, and ensure reliability and maintainability across platforms and internal systems.

Qualifications

• Deep architectural knowledge to assess system design and tradeoffs.
• Fluency in platform/infrastructure concepts (Kubernetes, cloud, data pipelines).
• Strong full-stack engineering ability across frontend and backend.
• AI-native operating bias: AI as a default in planning, building, and shipping.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, Next.js, and Python for internal tooling; Go/Rust, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and AWS on core platform.
• Experience designing and evolving scalable systems with stakeholder impact.
• Delivery accountability across projects from inception to production.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Product, and Data teams.
• Comfort working in ambiguity with autonomous, accountable decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end initiatives from problem understanding to production deployment.
• Collaborate with Ops, Data, and Product to build internal tooling and AI agents.
• Develop dashboards and automations that drive business visibility and efficiency.
• Lead internal applications, integrations, and workflows that scale with the company.
• Partner with Product Engineering on early-stage ideas and translate business needs into technical design.
• Review architecture and PRs to ensure reliability, safety, and absence of tech debt.
• Build production-grade systems with emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Engage across teams to align on standards and best practices.
