Amazon in Palo Alto is hiring a Software Development Engineer for Advertiser 1P Data. You will build large-scale distributed systems using Java for backend and React/JavaScript for frontend, leveraging AWS ML tools and data stores to power advertiser campaigns.

The role emphasizes architectural design, ownership from idea to implementation, and collaboration across teams to deliver scalable, AI-enabled advertising solutions that impact millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will develop products primarily using Java for backend and React/JavaScript for frontend, leveraging persistence technologies like DynamoDB, Mongo (CloudDB), Elasticsearch, and suite of AWS products for ML pipelining (Comprehend, SageMaker, and S3/EMR/Glue/Quicksight for Python-powered data pipelines and analytics).
• As an AI-first engineering team, you are encouraged to pair program with the state-of-the-art models and tools such as Kiro and Cline.
• You will help define our products, shape ambiguous business goals into working software solutions, and build scalable systems to support millions of users.
