Job summary

Commerce is seeking an AI-first Data Engineering Manager to lead our Enterprise Data Engineering team. You’ll own the roadmap for Snowflake- and Airflow-based platforms powering reporting, analytics, AI, and data products, while building a team that treats AI agents as first-class teammates.

You’ll coach engineers, embed agentic tools, set data quality and cost standards, and partner with Analytics, Data Science, and Product to deliver scalable data products.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering with team leadership experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake and Apache Airflow in production.
• Experience with distributed teams across time zones.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; familiarity with modern ELT tooling.
• Mentoring and developing engineers; data governance basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a data engineering team.
• Own the roadmap and architecture for Snowflake/Airflow platforms.
• Embed agentic tools into daily workflows for development and testing.
• Coach on agent-assisted data quality checks and autonomous pipelines.
• Partner with Analytics, Data Science, Product, and stakeholders.
• Set standards for data quality, observability, lineage, and cost.
• Drive pipeline modernization and evaluate new tooling.
• Establish scalable design reviews, incident response, and docs.
