Job summary

Fullbay, Inc. in Phoenix seeks a Lead Data Engineer to own the data platform end to end. You will govern the Snowflake warehouse, define metrics, and enable self-serve analytics for business users and AI agents.

You will set standards, manage schema evolution, and coordinate with vendors. Documentation is a core deliverable, and you may be the company’s first data hire, reporting to the VP of IT.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, including ownership of a production data platform.
• Deep dimensional modeling experience; declare grain and historization choices.
• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse beyond SQL.
• Version-controlled transformations with automated tests and CI.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, data engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with change data capture and incremental extraction.
• Experience with entity resolution across systems.

Responsibilities

• Own metric and entity definitions used company-wide; ensure documentation enables self-serve answers.
• Build and extend the gold layer; write SQL and transformations with tests in version control.
• Manage identity resolution across platforms; crosswalk logic and survivorship rules.
• Oversee Snowflake role hierarchy, access controls, and cost attribution.
• Design data access paths for AI agents as primary data consumers; manage per-agent identities and grants.
• Onboard new data sources; monitor schema drift and coordinate with engineering on schema changes.
• Direct the architecture consultant; write specs, review outputs against standards, reject nonconforming work.
• Provide guidance and office hours for business users and AI builders to self-serve; avoid building reports on request.
• Document as a core deliverable; act as continuity for data knowledge.
• Adhere to confidentiality and compliance; perform other duties.
• Two live products: Classic and Next; AI agents as data consumers; set company-wide data standards; direct line to VP of IT.
