Job summary

Per Scholas is seeking an industry‑experienced Low Voltage Fiber Technician Instructor to deliver hands‑on training for entry‑level learners. The role emphasizes safe, jobsite‑minded instruction across fiber and copper cabling, structured labs, and exam readiness for CFOT and OSHA/NFPA standards.

You will lead labs, model professional jobsite expectations, and use AI‑assisted tools to strengthen troubleshooting, documentation, and learner readiness in a dynamic in-person/hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of teaching, training, mentoring, or technical facilitation experience preferred.
• Ability to teach adult learners with clear explanations, demonstrations, guided practice, and job-relevant examples.
• Strong classroom and lab management skills including safety, pacing, learner engagement, and hands-on practice.
• Ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment reflecting professional workplace expectations.
• Experience with LMS, digital collaboration tools, and productivity suites; ability to use AI-enabled tools for instructional support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training for low-voltage fiber technician programs and related entry-level roles.
• Facilitate daily hands-on labs in copper/fiber cabling, testing, and documentation.
• Teach fiber optics concepts including single-mode/multimode applications and OTDR testing.
• Model jobsite safety practices and prepare learners for OSHA 10 and NFPA 70E standards.
• Lead labs involving construction math, jobsite readiness, and tool safety.
• Support CFOT certification preparation through guided reviews and labs.
• Integrate ITSM concepts into workplace simulations and ticketing workflows.
• Use AI-enabled tools to interpret OTDR traces and draft stakeholder communications.
