Job summary

Per Scholas seeks an industry-experienced Low-Voltage Fiber Technician Instructor to train entry-level adults for fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center environments. You will lead hands-on labs, model professional jobsite behavior, and prepare learners for certifications and real-world workloads.

The role combines technical credibility with student-centered instruction, safety focus, and use of AI-enabled tools to strengthen troubleshooting and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years teaching or technical facilitation preferred.
• Ability to teach adult learners with clear explanations and guided practice.
• Strong classroom and lab management in in-person or hybrid settings.
• Create inclusive, supportive learning environments.
• Experience with LMS and collaboration tools like Canvas, Zoom, Slack.
• Ability to use AI-enabled tools for instructional support and remediation.
• Safety certifications OSHA 10 and NFPA 70E are preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training for Low Voltage/ Fiber topics.
• Lead daily hands-on labs covering copper/fiber cabling and testing.
• Teach OSI model, VLANs, PoE, and basic network fundamentals.
• Model jobsite safety and OSHA/NFPA 70E expectations.
• Prepare learners for CFOT exam with labs and reviews.
• Maintain learner records in LMS and other platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align with employer needs.
• Administer quizzes, labs, certifications readiness, and capstones.
• Provide coaching and progress feedback to learners.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance troubleshooting and documentation.
