Everforth Apex seeks a Manager of AI Engineering (Patient Experience) in Fort Mill, SC with partial remote options. Lead teams delivering scalable AI, NLP, and RAG pipelines on Azure, balancing hands-on coding with people management.

Ensure security, compliance, and timely delivery in a regulated healthcare environment. The role requires 10+ years in software engineering, 2–3 years of direct management, and strong Azure/Python expertise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership/management experience
• Healthcare payer-side experience preferred
• Hands-on depth to discuss code and architecture
• Production AI/ML delivery experience (LLMs, NLP, RAG pipelines)
• Strong Azure experience across compute, data, identity and monitoring
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of Java/TypeScript/Go
• CI/CD, IaC, DevOps practices
• HIPAA-regulated environment experience and data security awareness

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software engineers, fostering innovation and accountability
• Design and deliver scalable AI and cloud-based solutions including LLM-based apps
• Establish engineering best practices for code quality, security, and operations
• Partner with business and tech leaders to define roadmaps and outcomes
• Conduct code reviews and guide architectural decisions
• Manage agile delivery with metrics for timelines and quality
• Oversee HIPAA-regulated data privacy and security controls
