Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Lead in Charlotte, NC to drive the design and delivery of healthcare AI solutions. You will lead engineers, review code and architectures, and own delivery timelines while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The role requires expertise in Azure, Python, and ML/NLP systems, with experience guiding cross-functional teams in regulated environments. The position is on-site three days per week in the Charlotte area, with no relocation.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in software engineering with 2+ years managing engineers.
• Healthcare experience with Epic, HL7, FHIR and PHI handling.
• Hands-on depth; able to walk through code and architecture they personally built in the last two years.
• Experience delivering AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based apps, agents, RAG pipelines or NLP systems.
• Strong Azure experience across compute, data, identity and monitoring; production workloads on Azure or other cloud.
• Proficient in Python; experience with Java/TypeScript/Go.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code and DevOps in regulated environments.
• Security/compliance for HIPAA/HITECH including encryption, least privilege, audit logging, secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams and deliverables; own delivery dates and quality.
• Mentor engineers; review architectures and code; communicate tradeoffs to executives.
• Collaborate with analytics/clinical stakeholders on AI/ML initiatives.
• Ensure HIPAA/compliance controls and secure development practices are followed.
