Job summary

Vertafore is seeking an AI Engineering Leader to own delivery for a core AI product domain. You will lead a small team of 4–8 engineers, staying hands-on with architecture and code while guiding the team to production-ready AI features.

You will collaborate with a product manager to translate customer problems into a practical engineering roadmap, mentor engineers, and uphold high standards for observability, latency, and reliability across North America.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ML/AI engineering or applied data science.
• 1–3+ years of direct people management or tech lead responsibilities.
• Hands-on production experience with LLM-powered apps or document pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI engineering stack knowledge.
• Experience deploying AI systems in AWS or cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI features and systems for your domain.
• Review PRs, make architectural decisions, and write code when needed.
• Collaborate with a product manager to translate problems into a roadmap.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards for the team.
• Build and operate production AI systems with observability and reliability.
