Job summary

Citi is seeking an AI Engineer on the Startups & Partnerships team in Jersey City, NJ. You will build, test, and ship real AI applications touching Citi’s businesses and work directly with stakeholders across the bank. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge AI models and fast-paced delivery within a regulated global institution.

You will collaborate with business leaders, learn new tools rapidly, and help drive Citi's AI strategy with a startup-like velocity at scale.

Qualifications

• Full-stack AI engineering experience, not a data science or ML research role.
• Proven track record shipping AI applications/pipelines in live environments.
• Hands-on with LLMs, prompt engineering, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong software engineering across backend, API, and frontend layers.
• Able to communicate technical impact to business stakeholders.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly as AI landscape evolves.
• Experience operating in large, regulated institutions with startup-speed mentality.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI applications and pipelines that solve real business problems across Citi lines of business.
• Evaluate emerging AI tech through structured PoCs and sandbox trials.
• Prototype business ideas into working demos quickly.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic systems with enterprise APIs and data pipelines.
• Deliver PoCs into production with governance and platform teams.
• Communicate impact to senior business and tech stakeholders.
