Job summary

Booker DiMaio, LLC seeks an AI Engineer to design and deploy AI-enabled capabilities within mission-focused software. You will work with system and software engineers to apply existing LLMs to real workflows, building agentic solutions and prompts to automate reporting tasks.

The role is hybrid with up to 3 days remote and 2 onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD, and requires a Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

Qualifications

• Experience writing production-quality Python code.
• Experience building applications on top of existing LLMs via APIs.
• Experience designing multi-agent AI workflows, including prompt chaining and agent orchestration.
• Strong prompt engineering skills and evaluation of LLM outputs.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into software architectures (RESTful APIs, microservices).
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Agentic Solution Design & Development: Lead design and development of AI-driven solutions from conception to deployment, building multi-agent workflows where coordinated agents and prompts produce outputs for reporting and dissemination.
• LLM Integration: Integrate existing foundation models into software architectures via APIs and orchestration frameworks, selecting the right model and approach for each task.
• Prompt Engineering & Workflow Automation: Design, test, and refine prompts and agent instructions to automate manual tasks and decompose workflows into discrete steps.
• Evaluation & Reliability: Develop robust testing, evaluation, and validation strategies for AI outputs to ensure accuracy and handle edge cases.
• Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a technical liaison with system engineers, software developers, and domain experts; communicate tradeoffs effectively.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with evolving LLM and agentic AI landscapes and identify opportunities to apply new capabilities.
