Job summary

Bank of America seeks an AI Engineer - Data Scientist I in a hybrid role across New York and Charlotte. You will design and build AI-powered products, bridging AI research, software engineering, and product development.

You will prototype, evaluate, deploy, and monitor systems, applying LLMs, retrieval, NLP, and time-series modeling to solve complex business problems. You will work with GPS Data & AI to deliver scalable, production-ready AI solutions that provide measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (CS, math, stats, physics) required.
• 2+ years building production-quality software or AI-powered applications using Python/C++.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, APIs, testing, version control, and production-ready code.

Responsibilities

• Frame business problems using ML/AI methods.
• Own AI systems end-to-end from research to deployment and monitoring.
• Experiment with models, retrieval strategies, prompting techniques, and AI tech.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure AI system quality.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate problems.
• Support cross-team collaboration to advance data science and AI capabilities.
