Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an AI/ML Engineer (Technical Lead) to independently drive lighthouse AI use cases from concept through production, owning technical direction and scalable architectures. You will mentor engineers, collaborate across business units, and shape reusable patterns for enterprise AI deployments.

The role emphasizes production-ready AI systems, governance, and strong stakeholder communication, with onsite work from our Milpitas offices in California.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in applied AI/ML engineering or software engineering, with hands-on delivery of AI/ML systems into production.
• Demonstrated ability to take AI/ML solutions from concept to production independently, including data pipelines, deployment, evaluation, and operationalization.
• Experience shipping an LLM or agentic system with ownership of its evaluation, reliability, and operation after launch.
• Experience building and scaling enterprise agentic AI solutions across complex production environments.
• Strong depth across AI/ML including NLP, LLMs, generative AI, agentic systems, and MLOps/evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead lighthouse AI use cases end-to-end.
• Own high-impact AI use cases from problem framing to production deployment and operational ownership.
• Design architectures of AI systems for scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Establish evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, documentation, and performance metrics for trusted adoption.
• Create reusable patterns and reference architectures to accelerate future deliveries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to translate requirements into AI products and systems.
