Qualifications

• PhD with at least 2 years of industry experience, or equivalent (Master’s with 4+ years, Bachelor’s with 6+ years).
• Hands-on experience applying ML/AI in customer-facing environments.
• Proven ability to deploy models in production with reliability and performance.
• Experience with open-source ML/AI tools and frameworks.
• Experience with backend programming languages (Python, Go).
• Proficiency in developing, using, and maintaining AI agents; coding agents for automation/decision tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in asynchronous collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Applied ML Development: Design, develop, and deploy ML models and AI solutions for real-world customer problems with usability, scalability, and performance in mind.
• Proof of Concept & Innovation: Build demos, POCs, MVPs, and workflows to showcase AI capabilities.
• Work in a fast-paced environment to experiment with emerging techniques and tools.
• Integration & Deployment: Develop and improve open-source tool integrations within production environments, e.g., MLFlow, Spark, LangChain, Kubeflow on Kubernetes.
• Solution Optimization: Fine-tune models for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in production.
• Product & System Enhancement: Translate customer requirements into actionable AI/ML improvements.
• Collaboration & Communication: Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers; document procedures and best practices.
• Leadership & Advocacy: Mentor junior staff and communicate progress to leadership.
