Job summary

Live Oak Bank is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern for AI Enablement & Forward-Deployed Engineering at our Wilmington, NC headquarters. You will embed with real teams, building AI solutions that reduce friction and improve processes across lending and operations.

You will ship tools quickly, train colleagues, and document your work to ensure lasting impact beyond the internship. Open to current undergrad/grad students with a strong portfolio and demonstrated AI fluency.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Portfolio or shipped projects you can walk us through (GitHub, projects, etc.).
• Fluency with AI tools as part of how you work; demonstrate last built solution.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business teams across lending, deposits, credit and operations to identify AI-enabled workflows and build solutions with them.
• Ship working tools quickly using Claude, Claude Code and Power Automate; prototype in days and deliver in real use.
• Translate business challenges into scoped problems and communicate constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
• Document what you build so the team can maintain it after you leave.
