Job summary

Live Oak Bank invites enrolled students to join a 10-week Summer 2027 Internship at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. You will embed with lending, deposits, and operations teams to build AI-powered tools and processes that remove friction. You will ship usable tools rapidly and document learnings for scale.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Portfolio, GitHub, or set of shipped projects you can walk us through.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI tools as part of how you work.
• Ability to write and speak clearly to non-technical people.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-direction.
• Experience building with modern web or automation stacks.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or leading a team.
• Exposure to a regulated industry, or curiosity about banking.
• Ability to build and defend a measurement framework.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business teams across lending, deposits, credit, and operations to identify AI-enabled workflows.
• Ship working tools quickly using Claude, Claude Code, Power Automate and low‑code platforms.
• Document what you build so the team can maintain it after you leave.
• Provide hands-on training and scale adoption with AI champions and librarians.
