Job summary

Relay is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern (AI/ML) for Summer 2027 in Raleigh, NC. You will work with engineers to turn voice and AI-powered insights into actionable frontline tools, building experience across the stack from core product features to ML-powered experiences.

Interns gain hands-on exposure to product strategy, AI/ML applications, and teamwork, with opportunities for long-term roles upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or graduate student in ML/CS with expected graduation Dec 2027 or Spring 2028.
• GPA 3.5+ in a technical field is preferred.
• 1+ years of development experience.
• Strong Python and ML framework experience (PyTorch or JAX).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to contribute to product functionality and tooling.
• Analyze requirements, propose architectures, assess risk, and estimate effort.
• Participate in Agile development and deploy code to production.
• Develop automated tests to ensure quality and performance.
• Research and share AI/ML best practices to raise team standards.
• Identify opportunities for ML solutions and stay current on AI advancements.
• Design, train, and evaluate ML models (supervised/unsupervised/deep learning).
• Prepare and preprocess datasets to improve training efficiency.
• Integrate ML models into production systems for scalability and reliability.
