Job summary

Gusto seeks an IT Controls Engineer to own, evolve, and scale ITGCs across NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, and adjacent platforms. You’ll partner with Internal Audit, IT, Security, and Finance to ensure SOX 404 compliance while advancing AI-augmented assurance.

Lead 1st-line control environment and drive automated evidence workflows across the enterprise. You will implement continuous controls monitoring, reduce manual effort, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen risk posture

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT controls, audit, or enterprise governance across ERP/CRM platforms.
• Strong SOX 404, COBIT, COSO knowledge and SoD design/remediation.
• Experience leading external audits and managing audit relations.
• Experience building AI-augmented controls and CCM approaches.

Responsibilities

• Own ITGC design and operation across enterprise apps including SoD, change management, and SDLC.
• Lead 1st-line control environment with application owners and engineers.
• Drive SoD strategy across ERP/HRIS/CRM with monitoring tooling.
• Manage audit lifecycle as liaison with Internal/External Audit and SOX PMO.
• Build AI-native continuous controls monitoring and automated evidence workflows.
• Own controls posture for internal AI/automation portfolio and review AI use cases.
• Lead access governance, provisioning, and periodic access reviews.
• Govern change management for in-scope systems and release evidence.
• Mature controls program via rationalization and automated controls.
