Job summary

Gusto seeks an IT Controls Engineer to own, scale, and automate IT General Controls across NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, and related platforms. You’ll collaborate with Internal Audit, IT, Security, and Finance to ensure SOX 404 compliance while enabling AI-augmented assurance.

In this senior role, you’ll innovate controls testing, reduce manual effort, and partner with AI/automation teams to build a scalable controls program that supports rapid growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT controls, audit, or enterprise applications governance.
• SOX 404, COSO, COBIT knowledge with SoD design/remediation across ERP/HRIS/CRM.
• Experience with external audits (Big 4 or equivalent).
• AI-augmented controls development and CCM experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Own ITGC design and operation across enterprise apps.
• Lead 1st-line control environment with owners/engineers.
• Drive SoD strategy across ERP/HRIS/CRM and monitoring tooling.
• Manage audit lifecycle with Internal/External Audit and SOX PMO.
• Build AI-native continuous controls monitoring and evidence review.
• Collaborate with security, GRC, Legal, Finance for compliant controls.
