Job summary

Subcritical Systems is seeking a CAD Designer to join our mechanical engineering team in Austin, Texas, to bridge ATLAS AI-driven design with conventional NX workflows.

You will refine ATLAS outputs into production-quality 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings, while applying GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards. Collaboration with cryogenic, vacuum, and RF engineers is essential to ensure manufacturability and design intent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional CAD design experience.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and GD&T fundamentals.
• Interest in AI-based design and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Refine ATLAS-generated outputs into production-quality NX models and drawings.
• Validate outputs against design intent and drafting standards.
• Develop CAD automation scripts (NX Open, Python) under supervision.
• Produce 2D drawings with GD&T and BOMs.
• Collaborate across mechanical, cryogenic, RF teams during design reviews.
