Next Step Systems seeks a Technical Product Lead for AI Email Applications. This 100% remote role bridges user needs, model capabilities, and engineering constraints to define system behavior, metrics, and ongoing improvements.

You will work hands-on with ML/engineering teams to push AI-powered email solutions from concept to production. The ideal candidate has strong AI/ML experience, deep system design knowledge, and a proven track record shipping AI-driven products.

Qualifications

• AI/ML experience required.
• Strong CS fundamentals and system design skills.
• Hands-on with AI-powered products and LLM-based systems.
• Ability to translate model capabilities into product decisions.
• Comfort reading technical designs and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end AI capabilities and user experiences.
• Translate evaluation results into product decisions.
• Trade off quality, latency, cost, reliability, and UX.
• Collaborate with ML, backend, and client engineers.
• Establish evaluation frameworks across metrics and experiments.
• Own product quality, reliability, and user trust.
• Identify failure modes and ensure safe AI systems.
• Drive execution with clear specifications and priorities.
