Job summary

Blue Rose Research in San Francisco is seeking an AI Economic Policy Fellow to design an ambitious policy plan for how AI reshapes work, wages, and the economy. The Policy Lead will own the policy substance, identify key choices, and draft options with trade-offs, costs, and precedents.

Reporting to External Affairs, you will work with data scientists and survey researchers, test policy ideas with voters, and brief leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of economic policy (labor, social insurance, tax, industrial, or technology policy).
• 7+ years policy experience in federal/state government or related roles.
• You have taken a policy from idea to a detailed proposal with clear decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the AI economic plan from framework to final proposals.
• Identify key choice points and lay out options with trade-offs, costs, and precedents.
• Draw on research on automation, labor markets, social safety nets, training, tax policy, competition.
• Draft policy memos, option papers, and the plan itself.
• Turn policy options into concrete proposals for polling and message testing.
• Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to test and refine ideas.
• Engage with federal/state policymakers to test ideas and brief leadership.
