Job summary

Blue Rose Research seeks an AI Economic Policy Fellow to design and lead the AI era policy plan, focusing on policy substance and testable options with input from data scientists and survey researchers.

Reporting to the Director of External Affairs, you will work with economists, policymakers, and researchers to shape credible policy on worker support, sharing AI gains, and funding, in California and beyond.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of economic policy (labor, social insurance, tax, industrial, or technology policy).
• 7+ years of policy experience in federal/state government or equivalent.
• Proven ability to translate ideas into concrete policy proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the AI economic plan from framework to final proposals.
• Identify key choice points and lay out options with trade-offs and costs.
• Draft policy memos, option papers, and the plan itself.
• Turn policy options into concrete proposals for polling and testing with voters.
• Coordinate with data scientists and researchers to refine the plan.
• Engage economists and policymakers to stress-test ideas.
