Job summary

SecureBio, LLC is seeking a senior wet lab scientist to lead an AI-enabled R&D program in Cambridge, MA. You will design experiments, work hands-on at the bench, and integrate frontier AI models with wet-lab workflows.

You will collaborate across Detection and AI teams, document rigorously, and build reproducible metrics to demonstrate AI uplift in biosafety research. This is a full-time, in-person role with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, microbiology, bioengineering or related field.
• Deep wet lab expertise in viral enrichment, nucleic acid extraction and NGS library preparation.
• Proven track record optimizing complex molecular protocols with rigorous experimental design.
• Strong fluency with frontier AI tools; able to critique model outputs and guide experiments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a hands-on AI-in-the-loop wet lab R&D program from design to execution.
• Identify opportunities for structured optimization experiments with viral enrichment and sequencing workflows.
• Coordinate across detection scientists and lab support to implement improvements.
• Develop QC feedback loops and reproducible metrics to validate AI-driven changes.
• Document methods, data, and results in electronic lab notebooks with high QA/QC standards.
• Collaborate with SecureBio AI, computational and laboratory leadership.
