Job summary

Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Inc. in Cambridge seeks a Senior Expert (Applied AI, LMW Drug Discovery) to develop and apply AI methods for low molecular weight drug discovery, working with multidisciplinary project teams, engineers, and data scientists.

You will build and benchmark AI models, adapt AI workflows for hit generation, lead optimization, and pre-clinical analyses, and help integrate AI approaches into DMTA cycles to accelerate drug discovery.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in innovation, development, deployment and continuous support of Machine Learning data management and modeling.
• Strong hands-on coding proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks.
• Strong understanding and experience in using version control systems for developing software (e.g. GitHub, git, subversion, bitbucket, etc.).
• Demonstrated expertise in molecular AI/ML areas, such as generative chemistry; structure-based drug design; protein-ligand modelling; docking, scoring, and pose assessment with rigorous model validation.
