Job summary

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP is seeking an Innovation Attorney – Transactional to advance the firm’s AI-enabled deal workflows. The role reports to the Director of Knowledge & Innovation and focuses on strategic AI adoption across transactional practice groups.

You will design, test, and scale AI tools for diligence, drafting, structuring, and closing, while managing stakeholder relationships and governance for responsible AI use.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in legal technology, innovation, or AI applications in legal practice.
• Proficiency with generative AI tools and prompt engineering concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to translate technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys across transactional groups to implement AI in deal workflows.
• Configure and test AI-powered platforms for deal work.
• Develop and refine prompts for AI systems supporting drafting, analysis, and research.
• Drive adoption of AI tools through training sessions and demonstrations.
• Contribute to governance and quality assurance for responsible AI use.
