Job summary

Gravie is seeking a Staff AI Test Automation Engineer in Minneapolis to own AI-driven testing across product portals. You’ll extend the Playwright framework, migrate from legacy tools, and build AI-powered test generation, execution, and maintenance at scale.

Collaboration with QA, Engineering, and Product will accelerate delivery and reduce defects reaching production. You’ll lead migration efforts, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and refine feedback loops to maximize automated regression coverage.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in test automation or SDET with strong testing practices.
• Hands-on with Agentic AI tools to generate and maintain code at scale.
• Playwright or equivalent end-to-end testing framework experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript; production-quality code.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and merge request workflows.
• Strong REST API testing knowledge; API vs UI testing decisions.
• Experience migrating legacy tests to modern frameworks.
• Excellent communication; able to document technical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Continue building AI-driven test automation workflows with AI agents.
• Evolve Playwright framework with scalable patterns and page objects.
• Create tight feedback loops between local tests, CI results, and MR workflows.
• Lead migration from Geb/Spock to Playwright while maintaining coverage.
• Integrate Playwright in GitLab CI/CD with quality gates and caching.
• Instrument tests with trends on pass/fail, flakiness, and coverage.
• Identify when API-level tests are preferable to UI tests.
• Develop automation for claims systems, contract testing, and end-to-end journeys.
• Improve prompts and validation for higher first-pass AI test generation.
