Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering & Assurance team in a hands-on role focused on AI-driven testing. You will design and maintain automation, perform API and database tests, and contribute to feature-level quality through thorough test coverage and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have experience with Java/Python, CI/CD tools, and a passion for AI-enabled software testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 years of QA/QE experience.
• Hands-on experience developing test automation scripts with Java and Python.
• Familiarity with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications (chatbots/AI).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for assigned features; create test cases and run full test suites.
• Track and report progress using Jira/ADO/ALM and understand CI/CD concepts.
• Implement tests for AI/ML applications including chatbot testing.
• Use AI tools to enhance testing workflows and data generation.
