Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Team Leader to run Caterpillar Financial's AI workflow platform and a 6-person global team. You will turn the roadmap into a delivery plan, remove blockers, and drive value with strong technical judgment.

You will partner with IT and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely software delivery in a regulated environment. Lead the lifecycle of AI-enabled delivery, establish standards, and monitor risk, quality, and adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years owning backlog and releases for a software product or platform.
• Experience ensuring software quality: test planning, automation, regression testing, defect management, UAT.
• Technical background in modern web stacks to assess architecture and guide proofs of concept.
• Working knowledge of generative AI and its responsible use in software delivery.
• Comfort making decisions under ambiguity with structured trade-offs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication, with ability to say 'not yet' and justify it.
• Track record of improving delivery processes and standardizing ways across teams.
• Experience with Agile delivery and backlog tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Experience balancing speed with security and control within security and vendor processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform backlog: prioritize demand, define outcomes, and sequence releases delivering measurable business value.
• Lead delivery with a 6-person global team of developers and engineers, removing blockers and ensuring flow to production.
• Standardize delivery workflows, milestones, and tools for consistency and visibility.
• Define AI and automation within the delivery process, including guardrails and evaluation methods.
• Develop and optimize the team's operating model: standards, definition of done, release management, audit-ready controls.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed cybersecurity standards in design, delivery, and support.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements and timely trade-offs without excessive approvals.
• Manage contractor work through vendor processes to ensure timely, quality delivery.
• Identify, communicate, and manage delivery, technical, and compliance risks; escalate early with options.
• Drive adoption through demos, training, feedback, and progress reporting to leadership.
