Job summary

ZeptoLab UK Limited is seeking a Technical Director to own the continued technical evolution of Bullet Echo, shaping architecture for client, battle server, and backend. This is a senior leadership role focused on engineering system transformation and AI-first development in a live product.

You will drive the technical roadmap, improve engineering practices, manage priorities and capacity, and build a strong engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of experience as a Technical Director or comparable lead with ownership in live game development.
• Strong C++ background with production codebase experience in live product.
• Proven people-management experience leading technical teams across LiveOps and backend.
• Experience with real-time multiplayer architecture, client/server interaction, and battle servers.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision for Bullet Echo and set direction for client, battle server, and backend architecture.
• Evolve architecture and engineering practices for a large live product with a complex codebase.
• Own the technical roadmap, engineering quality, debt, and risks.
• Evaluate initiatives for feasibility, cost, risks, time-to-market, and architectural impact.
• Manage priorities and engineering capacity across product development, LiveOps, and technology development.
• Improve engineering processes to shorten the end-to-end development cycle.
• Drive AI-first engineering approaches across development and testing.
• Assess the technical team, identify opportunities, and help build a strong engineering organization.
