Job summary

Gusto is seeking a seasoned Product Manager to own the Tax Payments & Filings domain, building AI-enabled tooling and automation that keeps hundreds of thousands of businesses compliant on time. You’ll translate complex regulatory rules into scalable products and outcomes.

Collaborating with Engineering, Design, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and CX, you’ll shape strategy, prioritise boldly, and ship high-impact solutions that adapt as rules change.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on product management experience with internal-facing platforms.
• Proven track record of driving leverage via automation, tooling, or system improvements.
• Strong technical fluency and the ability to partner with engineering.
• Experience in a compliance-driven or highly regulated domain (e.g., tax, banking, healthcare).
• Hands-on experience with AI and automation.
• You use data to set goals and measure impact and to prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Own the investment strategy for tax compliance capabilities and set long-term direction.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and CX to identify friction and align solutions.
• Prototype, implement, and ship AI-enabled tax tooling that scales with regulatory changes.
• Bring structure to ambiguity by defining direction and sequencing work with clear frameworks.
