Job summary

Lyntris is seeking a motivated Systems Engineering Intern pursuing a master’s degree in Human Factors, Systems Engineering, or related fields. You will help identify user needs, manage system requirements, and assist with testing across AI-enabled software for defense and commercial use.

Start date November/December 2026, on-site in Ann Arbor. Work with systems engineers, software developers, researchers, and product managers to contribute to real-world products and lifecycle activities,

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a master's program or recently graduated in a relevant field.
• Experience with requirements engineering and documentation.
• Familiarity with human factors methods and user-centered research.
• Understanding of software testing, validation, or QA principles.
• Able to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements elicitation and analysis through stakeholder interviews and reviews of documentation.
• Support human factors and user research to understand workflows and usability.
• Develop and maintain requirements documentation, use cases, and user stories.
• Contribute to test plans, test cases, and evaluation criteria for software.
• Support functional testing, defect tracking, and verification of fixes.
• Plan and document user testing sessions and capture feedback for improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and researchers to clarify requirements.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation and technical materials.
