Job summary

Lyntris is seeking an AI/ML Engineer Intern to help develop AI-enabled software for defense applications. The role focuses on building scalable AI features, integrating LLM-powered components, and ensuring robust software design and testing.

This position supports collaboration with industry partners, academia, and sponsors, with travel as needed. Applicants should have a related degree in progress or completed, knowledge of LLMs, and experience with Java and modern frontend frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or in progress in engineering, CS, math, physics, or related.
• General understanding of LLM-powered app development and prompt engineering.
• Proficiency with Java, Vue.js/React, REST API.
• Passion for AI and ability to solve technical problems.
• Experience designing and debugging LLM-powered systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel for technical presentations and testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, implement, debug, and test AI-enabled software components.
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Design, document, implement, debug, and test software.
• Create plans and estimates for building software features.
• Understand system specs and propose improvements.
• Support cybersecurity-related activities.
• Participate in integrated test sessions with partners and customers.
• Support project vision and milestones.
• Produce documentation on software and system design and testing.
