Job summary

Brain Co. is seeking experts in specialty insurance to help build AI that reads policies and turns them into structured data. You will annotate documents, review AI outputs, and help define the rules that govern coverage decisions.

This is a part-time, contract engagement with flexible scheduling. Remote-friendly work, collaboration with our AI and product teams, and a focus on producing measurable customer value are expected.

Qualifications

• USA-based; 3 years minimum experience, 5+ years strongly preferred within excess and specialty insurance.
• Experience as underwriter, coverage attorney, counsel, or consultant in excess and specialty (E&S).
• Ability to read a policy end-to-end and explain how coverage responds, including across primary and excess layers.

Responsibilities

• Annotate policies to identify limits, sublimits, retentions, attachment points, and layering.
• Render coverage conclusions based on insuring agreements and exclusions.
• QA and correct labeling of AI outputs; grade agent performance against expert standards.
• Adjust hard cases involving manuscript wording, follow-form excess, nested exclusions, and underlying disputes.
• Build evaluation rubrics with the team to assess extraction and coverage conclusions.
• Shape product behavior by translating practice into product requirements for users.
• Be the translator between documents and engineers, explaining terminology and market conventions.
• Define ground truth by reviewing real policies and determining correct coverages and limits.
