Job summary

84.51° in Cincinnati is hiring a Solutions Architect to design AI-enabled product foundations across the Kroger Precision Marketing portfolio. You will shape architecture, prototypes, and reference implementations to scale data, APIs, and platforms for clients, internal users, applications, and AI agents.

You will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, translating needs into practical designs and delivery roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software, data, or platform engineering roles.
• 3+ years in leadership, architecture, or design roles.
• Experience designing distributed systems and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, ML engineers, and stakeholders to shape solutions and define technical paths forward.
• Design end-to-end architectures across data platforms, APIs, AI-enabled applications, internal tools, and client-facing capabilities.
• Translate business and product needs into technical designs, implementation plans, architecture diagrams, and phased delivery roadmaps.
• Build prototypes, proofs of concept, and reference implementations to validate feasibility and speed up delivery.
• Define architecture patterns for cloud apps, APIs, data pipelines, semantic layers, AI/ML workflows, and event-driven integrations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to decide on system design, integration patterns, data models, and build vs buy tradeoffs.
• Shape API strategies for secure, consistent data, models, and platform capabilities across teams and products.
• Create design documents, API specs, architecture decision records, reference architectures, and implementation guidance.
• Embed with delivery teams to clarify requirements and unblock progress; mentor teams on architecture practices.
