84.51° is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the Agentic Foundations team. You will design, develop, and maintain the agentic backbone powering Kroger’s AI initiatives, including platforms, patterns, and tools for agents and no-code/low-code interfaces.

This role demands strong software architecture, cloud experience, and leadership to guide cross-functional teams across engineering and data science, ensuring reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-paced enterprise.

Qualificações

• Experience with cloud-based software architecture focused on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• End-to-end SDLC with CI/CD and AIOps/MLOps, including agentic tooling.
• Experience with large-scale AI/ML systems, incl. GenAI and deep learning methods.
• Production-grade agentic systems (design, evals, deployment, monitoring).
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tooling (PyTorch, OpenAI SDK, LangChain, autogen).
• Experience with Azure and Google Cloud, CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, and FastAPI.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with Product Management to lead the Agentic Foundations space for Kroger enterprise.
• Lead and manage engineers and their reports, guiding design and development.
• Lead hiring for the team, including interview panels and screening questions.
• Oversee offshore reliability engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership for enterprise-grade agent platforms and tools.
• Ensure reliability, observability, and incident management across platforms.
• Keep current on agentic workflows and best practices to identify new capabilities.
• Foster collaboration and professional growth within the team.
• Reduce development time using enterprise SDLC tooling.
• Lead tooling abstraction to APIs, Python packages, or UIs.
• Translate research into consumable products or services.
