Job summary

84.51° is seeking a Solutions Architect to design and deliver technical foundations powering AI-enabled products across the Kroger Precision Marketing portfolio. You will define practical architecture patterns for data, APIs, and platform capabilities, working with data scientists, ML engineers and product managers to translate complex needs into production-ready solutions.

This role blends architecture with execution, including prototypes, reference implementations, and phased delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in software/data/platform/engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years in leadership/architect roles such as staff/principal engineer or solution design.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, data platforms or cloud apps.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and modern data patterns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to define technical paths forward.
• Design end-to-end architectures across data platforms, APIs and AI-enabled applications.
• Translate business needs into technical designs, diagrams and roadmaps.
• Build prototypes and reference implementations to validate feasibility.
• Define architecture patterns for cloud apps, data pipelines, AI workflows, and events.
• Guide teams on system design, integration patterns, data models and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Shape API strategies for secure and consistent data consumption across teams.
• Create design documents, API specs, architecture records and guidance.
• Embed with delivery teams to clarify requirements and unblock issues.
