Job summary

Evolent Health, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineering leader to oversee a high-performing team responsible for building scalable, AI-enabled healthcare software solutions. You will guide architecture, drive agile delivery, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to align with business goals.

You will mentor engineers, oversee code quality, and advance data pipelines, ML/Data Eng practices, and AI tooling usage, while ensuring secure, compliant delivery across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in software development with at least 1+ year in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as C# or Python and relevant frameworks.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data engineering tech (Spark, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
• Familiarity with modern data engineering patterns (Data Vault, dimensional modeling, lakehouse, feature flags, event-driven systems).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and focus on scalability and performance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools for deployment automation.
• Leadership mindset with AI-assisted engineering across the full delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the software engineering team and deliver with the team.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to support professional growth.
• Gather requirements, define scope, and create technical roadmaps with stakeholders.
• Oversee design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions.
• Conduct code reviews for quality, standards, and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain performance and reliability.
• Promote Agile methodologies and contribute to process improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless component integration.
